Generic Specification
Please note that all the requirements outlined below are merely indicative of a typical scenario. We will select a programme suitable for the technical resources of the venue, and will check technical specifications in detail before confirming any performances. Moreover, requirements are subject to change, so please contact us for more information.
We generally tour a projector, show disks, colour and a lighting T-bar but no other equipment.
Space
- Performance space 9m x 9m (minimum)
- Fully sprung floor with black dance floor
- White Cyc upstage
- Full Blacks upstage with capability of flying or opening during a pause to mask or reveal the cyc
- A 'Black Box' is required. Four or five sets of legs will be needed
- The performance area must be kept warm at all times from 1pm until the end of performance with a minimum temperature of 22° on every performance day
- Backstage, upstage or substage Crossover
Lighting (plan to follow)
- 10 x 1.8m booms, with four circuits on each
- Approximately 100 ways of 2Kw dimming, of which about 50 are needed onstage
- Approximately 8 overhead LX bars (over stage), 6.5m from dance floor, approximately 60 lamps overhead. No FOH LX is required
- Lantern Stock: 6x 2Kw Fresnels (with barn doors); 24 x 1Kw Fresnels (with barn doors); 24 x Par 64s; 20 Zoom Profiles (Narrow); 20 Zoom Profiles (Wide)
- The Boom configuration will be: Shin @ 0.3m - Zoom Profile. High Mid @ 1.2m - Par 64. Low Mid @ 0.8m - 1Kw Fresnel. Head @ 1.8m - Zoom Profile
- Cyclorama lit in two colours; typically a minimum of 12 1Kw Asymmetric Floods
- 5 Floor stands are required
- A (doughty style) A-Frame stand (extendable to 2m) capable of holding 6 PARS is required
- We tour a show disk compatible with ETC and Strand 500 series
- Lighting operated by Production Manager
Sound
- FOH Sound System
- 4 onstage monitors
- 2 CD Players
- A DI box for an ipod on stage for the company's use during Class
- Green in Blue is performed live by a Jazz Quartet. They will be positioned USR about 1m DS of the Cyc. Below is a list of the four instruments with their basic set up and sound requirements (in blue):
- Saxophone - Microphone (e.g. SM57) on a boom stand
- Keyboard (with Amp) - Mono Active DI Box (Linked out of amp)
- Double Bass (with Amp) - Microphone (e.g. Beyer M88) on a small boom stand
- 5 Piece Drum Kit and Drum Pads (with Amp) - Mono Active DI Box (Linked out of amp), 2 Overhead mics (e.g. AKG 451/391), Kick drum microphone (e.g. Beyer M88)
Two Monitors are required with an independent mix in each
Live music for Front Line is played acoustically.
Technical Support and Crew
- For the fit-up we need sufficient crew to have all lights and masking rigged in about six hours. Focussing and plotting for all pieces will take two four hour sessions. Typically we are looking at a minimum of two stage crew and two Lighting crew
- For the performance, we need at least one member of crew on stage to cue performers, help with colour changes between pieces, and help set up the band's equipment in an interval
- We will need cans to communicate between lighting, sound and the stage
- We ideally need four dressing rooms
